Russia Starts Taking Advantage Of Obama

And it begins. Russia, assuming that Obama is weak (and possibly sympathetic to their Marxist leanings), has decided to announce the day after Obama won the Presidency that they are deploying missiles near Poland. During this announcement Dmitry Medvedev (Russia’s President a.k.a. Putin’s lackey) went on to congratulate Obama on his victory and hope for “constructive dialogue” with him. Russia isn’t stupid; they know they have a great opportunity coming up with Obama as President and the large liberal majorities in Congress. Either they will have a very sympathetic ear controlling Washington or leadership to fearful to stand up to them.
Russia will be deploying the missiles to the Kaliningrad region which is actually separated from Russia and lies between NATO members Poland and Lithuania. Or course both these countries use to be under strong Soviet control as Lithuania was occupied by the Russians for 46 years while Poland had a communist government set up by Russia after WWII. Add this to the Russian’s invasion of Georgia, formally part of the Soviet Union, and you start seeing a disturbing pattern in Russian aggression.
Update: Now Putin is playing more games, they are trying to extend the Presidential term to six years instead of four. There are reports that Medvedev may step down from the post next year to allow a Putin return to the Presidency for hopefully 12 more years. That would make Putin a 20 year President…sounds more like a dictatorship to me. I only hope Obama is up to the challenge and doesn’t come off weak like JFK did.
