Obama Israel Flip Flop

Obama recently delivered a speech at AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) and as is typical for Obama, he has completely flipped on an issue. Obama has made it very clear for some while now that he does not feel Iran is a major threat.
“They don’t pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us…..You know Iran they spend one one-hundredth of what we spend on the military. If Iran ever tried to pose a serious threat to us, they wouldn’t stand a chance. And we should use that position of strength that we have to be bold enough to go ahead and listen. That doesn’t mean we agree with them on everything. We might not compromise on any issues, but at least, we should find out other areas of potential common interest, and we can reduce some of the tensions that has caused us so many problems around the world.”
He also said numerous times he would engage in talks with them at any time without pre-conditions. Now let’s take a look at that quote and see what is wrong with it. First off Obama demonstrates his total lack of understanding of foreign policy by saying “they don’t pose a serious threat to us…” To us? Did you forget about Israel? About the new Iraqi and Afghanistan governments? About any other country who doesn’t agree with Iran’s religious or political views? Lesson No.1, we have allies that we have a duty to protect and respect. It isn’t always just about us.
As far as Iran not being a serious a threat like Soviet Union, do you know why that is? That’s because the Soviet Union had nuclear weapons which is exactly what we are trying to prevent Iran from attaining. With you as President they will surely become as or more dangerous than the Soviet Union was. While you are sitting there attending press filled, media circus, dog and pony show talks with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad they will be using that time to come closer and closer to their goals of nuclear weapons and the destruction of Israel.
So what if they don’t spend as much as we do on the military. It only takes one atomic bomb to kill millions of Americans or Israelis. But apparently Mr. Obama doesn’t feel that a million American or Israeli deaths is a big worry. You are suppose to protect us all Barack, not sacrifice a million of us and then decided to come to our defense. According to your own words you want to cut our military budget by getting rid of our missile defense system research, “slow our development of future combat systems”, cut any new nuclear weapon development, and get rid of our nukes. After you get done with all that you won’t have to worry because Iran will be outspending us. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o84PE871BE&feature=related)
Areas of potential common interest?! When somebody wants to murder you just because you are an American or have a different religion you aren’t going to find much common interest. This is not a typical disagreement/war of political issues, this is a religious conflict. Ahmadinejad and his followers believe Allah has commanded them to kill us. Its nice to know that Obama thinks he can convince them to betray their “God’s” wishes. So if I understand this correctly they would rather listen to you than to their “God?” Fat chance. You must have a pretty damn high view of yourself.
Let’s not also forget the stance you took against the resolution to declare Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps a terrorist entity. Iran funds terrorists with weapons and money in order to kill our troops and citizens, but you’re right, they shouldn’t be considered terrorists…
But now that the primary is sown up and you have to speak to AIPAC Iran is an extreme threat.
“There’s no greater threat to Israel or to the peace and stability of the region than Iran. The danger from Iran is grave and real and my goal will be to eliminate this threat.”
That is pretty tough speak after all the condemnation you have directed towards Hillary, Bush, and McCain for their “saber-rattling” on the issue of Iran. All of this just demonstrates the point I have been trying to make about you from the beginning. You are a habitual liar and flip-flopper with no real understanding or regard for the safety of this country and her allies. Not only are you no different than any other politician but you are far worse. Usually when I disagree with politicians, like John McCain, I am still confident that they love their country and would do anything to defend it. With you I am not so sure.
