Retarded Attempts To Control Gas Prices

Two of the most retarded and futile attempts at lowering gas prices were made this past week. The first was congress’ vote to halt addition to the strategic reserve. Right now roughly 70,000 barrels of oil are added a day, that is .1% of global demand. ONE TENTH OF A PERCENT!! Not even half a percent. This is the liberal solution to gas prices? Is this the big plan they campaigned on? Some democrats claim this would lower gas prices by 25 cents while other democrats admit this was a “small step.” First of all, get on the same page. Secondly, what kind of liberal monkey-ass voodoo math did the idiots use to arrive at 25 cents. As an engineer I can’t begin to explain how far off base that estimate is. In reality this halt could lower gas by maybe 1 cent. Since the bill passed through congress oil has risen to a new record of $127 a barrel. Wow, the bill has sure inspired confidence… And don’t get me started on the moron republicans who voted for this measure thinking it will make a difference.
The 2nd futile attempt was President Bush’s plea to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia to increase oil production. Why in the hell would Saudi Arabia want to significantly increase production when they are raking it in. If you are going to beg other countries to increase production you might as well kiss Canada, Mexico, and Nigeria’s ass too. In reality America shouldn’t be begging anyone because they shouldn’t have us by the balls in the first place. We should be increasing our production.
Cal Thomas wrote a piece earlier in the week about American oil production.
“In addition to the sinking value of the dollar, here is the main problem: According to the Department of Energy, US oil production has fallen approximately 40 percent since 1985, while the consumption of oil has grown by more than 30 percent. According to government estimates, there is enough oil in areas accessible to America — 112 billion barrels — to power more than 60 million cars for 60 years.”
No wonder prices are so high, this is such a simple concept you would think a liberal could understand it. Our dependency on foreign oil is purely the fault of liberals who are refusing to let us supply ourselves. This is a classic difference between conservatives and liberals. Conservatism pushes self sufficiency and self dependency while liberalism endorses dependency on others.
